Three Connecticut Tigers In Detroit Tigers Top 10 Prospects

Three former Connecticut Tigers are in the Detroit Tigers' organization's top 10 prospects, according to issue #1225 of Baseball America. The CT Tigers' 2012 left fielder Danry Vasquez is listed as the #6 prospect. At #7 is 2011 CT Tigers' left fielder Tyler Collins, who played for the Florida State League champion Lakeland Flying Tigers in 2012. Finally, 2011 CT Tigers shortstop Eugenio Suarez was voted as the Tigers #9 prospect. Suarez was also chosen as the Detroit Tigers shortstop of the future.

Former CT Tiger Carreno Chicago Cubs #19 Prospect!

Former Connecticut Tigers pitcher Josue Carreno (now known as Marcelo Carreno) was recently voted as the #19 prospect in the Chicago Cubs organization by MLB.com (Carreno was traded to the Cubs by Detroit for infielder Jeff Baker in 2012.) Carreno was (5-6, with a 4.76 ERA) with the 2010 Connecticut Tigers.
