The Connecticut Tigers brought out the heavy lumber and pounded the Tri-City Valley Cats for their second straight win. Tigers outfielder Victor Padron is red hot, hitting .423 on the young season and tallied his third RBI. Tigers' pitching limited the Valley Cats to just 3 hits. Starter Chase Edwards picked up his first win on 2015.

Detroit Tigers Sign 2015 First Round Pick Beau Burrows
The Detroit Tigers have signed their 2015 first round draft pick RHP Beau Burrows and have assigned him to the rookie level GCL Tigers of the Gulf Coast League. With any luck Burrows could pitch with Connecticut in 2015.
Expect to see several 2015 Tiger draftees promoted from the GCL Tigers to Connecticut in the coming weeks.
Former CT Tiger Suarez Lighting It Up In Cincinnati!
Former 2011 CT Tiger Eugenio Suarez is impressing the folks in Cincinnati. Suarez is riding a six game hitting streak (which has raised his batting average to a red hot .318) Being a Reds' fan I get to see all his games and Suarez looks like he is really coming into his own with the Reds.
Suarez got to face his ex-CT Tiger teammate Tyler Collins last Wednesday in Cincinnati (Collins hit a pinch hit homer off Reds' reliever Ryan Mattheus.)

Dean Green Is Still A Hitting Machine!
Dean Green hit .341 for the 2011 CT Tigers and has continued to hit at every level as he has moved up in the Tiger system. Green is at Class AA Erie in 2015 and through 50 games is hitting .315 with 8 homers and 35 RBI's. Maybe someone in Detroit could finally give this guy a chance at DH in Detroit. He has proven he can hit. Green hit .311 for Erie in 2014, .311 for Lakeland in 2013 and .348 in Lakeland in 2012!

Eugenio Suarez Making Noise With Cincinnati
Former 2011 Connecticut Tiger SS Eugenio Suarez is off to a good start with his new team the Cincinnati Reds.
Suarez walked and got a hit in his Reds' debut on Thursday at Wrigley Field in Chicago. On Friday, Suarez got the game winning hit to help the Reds beat the Cubs in 10 innings. Then last night, Eugenio hit a two run homer to tie the Cubs-Reds game at 3-3 (it was his first HR as a Red.)
Eugenio will now now get a real opportunity to prove himself as he replaces Red SS Zack Cozart (who is out for the season with a knee injury.)

Former 2011 CT Tiger Eugenio Suarez Makes Cincinnati Reds Debut Thursday Night In Chicago
Former 2011 Connecticut Tigers SS Eugenio Suarez was recalled by the Cincinnati Reds from AAA Louisville for tonight's game with the Chicago Cubs. Suarez walked and scored a run in his first AB as a Cincinnati Red.
Detroit Tigers Select RHP Beau Burrows In First Round Of 2015 Amateur Draft
The Detroit Tigers selected RHP Beau Burrows from Weatherford High School in Texas with the 22nd pick in the first round of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft on Monday night. Burrows throws in the high 90's and is considered to have front of the rotation stuff. He could be in Connecticut some time in 2015.
