Detroit Tigers' 2014 second round draft pick RHP Spencer Turnbull tossed 3 scoreless innings in his Connecticut Tigers debut at Dodd Stadium Sunday afternoon. Turnbull is a 6'3 RHP out of the University Of Alabama. 

Turnbull started for the CT Tigers against the Tri-City Valley Cats on Sunday afternoon at Dodd Stadium in Norwich and threw three scoreless innings, giving up 3 hits, while striking out one and walking two. 

Turnbull had seen action earlier in June with the GCL Tigers of the rookie Gulf Coast League (he was 0-0, 3.00 ERA in one start.)

CT Tiger Rightfielder Michael Gerber Has A Night For The Ages Saturday At Dodd Stadium

Connecticut Tigers' rightfielder had what could be the greatest single performance in Dodd Stadium history Saturday night in the CT Tigers 10-2 rout of the Tri-City Valley Cats. Gerber blasted a double, triple, 2 home runs and knocked in 8 runs against the Valley Cats. Gerber's double just narrowly missed being his third HR on the night. 

Michael Gerber was the Detroit Tigers 15th round pick out of Creighton in 2014. He is currently hitting .514 with 3 HR and 16 RBI, 8 2B, 3 3B in just 37 AB for Connecticut. You better catch him play while you still can!

Domingo Leyba & Michael Gerber Red Hot For Connecticut Tigers

The Connecticut Tigers has improved dramatically in 2014 thanks to the help of 2B Domingo Leyba (.271-1-9) and outfielder Michael Gerber (.469-1-8.) The team has also boosted by returning 2013 CT Tiger Ben Verlander (who started 2014 at Class A West Michigan) Outfielder Rashad Brown has also been outstanding.
