Tigers Spike State College 7-2 Thursday At Medlar Field
The Connecticut Tigers dominated the State College Spikes on the mound and with their bats Thursday night at Medlar Field. Tiger starter Spenser Watkins was dazzling once again, picking his 2nd win on 2015. First round draft pick Christin Stewart belted his second homer of the season to add to the Tiger 14 hit attack. The Tigers gained a gain on Lowell and are now tied with Tri-City for second place in the Setdler Division.

2011 Connecticut Tiger shortstop Eugenio Suarez hit his third homer of 2015 to win the game for the Cincinnati Reds over the Washington Nationals 3-2 Monday night in Washington (Suarez had three hits and two RBI's on the night and leads the Reds in hitting with an average of .329)

The Connecticut Tigers brought out the big bats and got superb pitching by Trey Teakell, Nate Fury and Jake Shull to shut out the Vermont Lake Monsters 7-0 at Dodd Stadium Monday night. Tigers' 2B Brett Pirtle blasted his first homer of 2015, while Trey Teakell notched his first Tiger win. The Tigers gained a game on Lowell (who lost to Tri-City) and now trail the Spinners by 2.5 games. Tigers are off Tuesday, then travel to State College and Williamsport. Tigers are back at Dodd Stadium next Thursday July 16 vs. Lowell.
