(Cam Gibson)
Since their inception in 2010, the Connecticut Tigers have featured several sons and grandsons of former MLB players (Shawn Teufel, Eric Roof, Pat Leyland, Colin Kaline, Bo McClendon.) The club also included OF Ben Verlander, who of course is the younger brother of Detroit Tigers' All Star pitcher Justin Verlander.
The 2015 Connecticut Tigers feature three sons of former MLB players, starting with 2015 Detroit fifth round draft pick Cam Gibson (who hit back to back homers in the Tigers' last two games with Lowell, one of them a grand slam.) Cam Gibson is the son of Detroit Tigers' great Kirk Gibson and attended Michigan State University just like his father. Gibson wears his father's #23 with the CT Tigers and appears to have the same fiery playing style.
The 2015 CT also welcome catcher Tyler Servais (pronounced Service), who is the son of long time MLB catcher Scott Servais (who played 11 seasons in the majors with the Astros, Cubs, Giants and Rockies.)
Finally, the '15 CT Tigers will feature 1B/OF Tanner Donnels, who is the son of journeyman infielder Chris Donnels (who had an 8 year MLB career with the Astros, Mets, Diamonbacks, Dodgers and Red Sox (1991-2002.)
Both Gibson and Donnels have already made their marks as Connecticut Tigers. Gibson is hitting a cool .444 with 2 homers and 6 RBI's in just three games!
