Connecticut Tigers' 2012 player of the year OF Danry Vasquez was traded by the Detroit Tigers to the Houston Astros today for Houston's closer Jose Veras (who had 19 saves thus far with Houston.) Vasquez was recently voted Detroit's #4 prospect. The trade will probably accelerate Danry's career as he will have a much better shot of cracking the lineup of the rebuilding Astros. So far in 2013 with Low A West Michigan Vasquez was hitting .281-5-39. Good luck Danry with your new organization.

Connecticut Tigers Attendance Up Significantly So Far In 2013

Despite the Connecticut Tigers slow start on the field in 2013, attendance is up significantly in 2013. The Tigers are averaging 2,222 fans a game so far in 2013 which is a dramatic upturn from 2012. The Tigers have already drawn 17,775 in just 8 home dates. If things keep going at this pace the Tigers are sure to easily break their all time home attendance in 2013. Hats off to Tigers' GM CJ Knudsen and his fan friendly approach. Knudsen and crew have brought tangible improvements to Dodd Stadium and have instilled an extremely positive atmosphere all over the ballpark. Thanks obviously also go to the fans of the greater Norwich area.
