For the second straight season the Connecticut Tigers lost one of their key offensive parts, when hot hitting second baseman Brett Pirtle was promoted to High Class A Lakeland of the Florida State League. Pirtle was hitting .333 at the time of his promotion. It appears Patrick Mackenzie will see the bulk of the time at second base for the Tigers down the stretch.
