The Connecticut Tigers have found their closer heading into the stretch run of the 2015 season in RHP Drew Smith (the Tigers' third round pick in the 2015 draft out of Crowley High School in Texas.)
Smith had been nothing short of dominating in 2015. Through 24 innings, Smith has given up just 15 hits with 27 K's and just 4 walks. Smith has swing and miss stuff and has held opposing batters to a .177 batting average in 2015 (his ERA is a microscopic 0.34.)
Drew Smith was dominant again Wednesday night in Aberdeen, pitching two spotless innings and striking out 4 in picking up his second save of 2015. Smith should be a lock in every closing opportunity during the remainder of the 2015 season.
